In this paper, we present nMOVE, a project aimed at investigating and finding methods and solutions for the reconstruction of accessibility models to archaeological nuragic settlements and the creation of possible old road networks. The main goal is to map a model of ancient road system through digital cartographic bases. We hereby present the archaeobotanical studies carried out on plant remains found in different archaeological sites dated from Bronze Age to investigate the movements of the past communities for supply of wild food resources. The processing of all plant remains (cleaning, preservation, storage, identification and study) are being realized at the Laboratory of Archaeobotany, which was recently established at the CCB and BG-SAR (Sardinian Germplasm Bank). In Sardinia Mycenaean pottery has been discovered on 14 sites. Since Mycenaean material could have arrived only by sea, we need to understand the relationship between coastal sites and the sea, the relationship between coastal sites and the inland sites, the potential infl uence of the Sardinian landscape on the distribution of Mycenaean pottery and the accessibility of the sites where Mycenaean pottery was discovered. The following analyses were performed and tested with GIS technologies: 1) Land evaluation and the creation of a “land units” thematic map for the area around each site (based on geological, pedological and morphometric data), from which an accessibility classifi cation was derived. 2) Creation and development of potential distribution roads between coastal and inland sites, developed with Cost Surface Analysis. The results of the trial will provide a starting point for further research.

n[move è un progetto di ricerca che partendo dal Età del Bronzo in Sardegna si propone di studiare e trovare metodi per la ricostruzione dell’accessibilità di un gruppo di nuraghi e siti nuragici e per la creazione di possibili reti viarie sia tra gli stessi che tra i siti e particolari luoghi di interesse. Cartografando potenziali modelli di sistema viario, ottenuti con la ricostruzione di reti di mobilità su piattaforma GIS e test pratici sul campo, si vogliono ottenere prototipi di potenziale accessibilità, percorribilità e conseguente camminabilità, applicabili diacronicamente e con finalità non esclusive della ricerca storica. I primi risultati della sperimentazione illustrano come l’individuo disabituato a spostamenti senza l’uso di mezzi a motore, seppur conoscitore delle dinamiche storiche, sia oramai privo di diverse sensibilità dell’ “andare a piedi”.

The article aims to show a schematic chronological framework on the data of the ›Mycenaean‹ findings in Sardinia and on the studies of the relationship between the island and the Mycenaean
world, trying to understand what the research has achieved and how their budget has developed since the end of the 1970s. Since all the theories, ideas and models about the relations
between Sardinia and the Mycenaean world developed over the years were the inevitable result from material data and information related to them, the history of the archaeological data will be re-examined. The work will focus on understanding and sequencing the thirty-year study.
This work is part of the research about ›the Mycenaean world and Sardinia‹, but it will not only reconstruct the ways of the scientific route, but also attempt to fully understand the results obtained in comparison with the times and modes of research activities.

Between May and June 2007, an archaeological field excavation was carried out by the 'Soprintendenza per i Beni Archeologici per le Province di Cagliari e Oristano’ (Agency for Archaeological Goods -Cagliari and Oristano Provinces). The archaeological excavation has taken a period of 20 days and brought into focus a new situation about the Neolithic in Sardinia.
In Italy the archaeological field excavations are often accused to producing a poor documentation and few attention to stratigraphic method, because they are carried out in a short time and with few resources.
The aim of this document is the demonstration of how it could be possible in otherwise.
We want to expose an applied solution to create the graphic documentation of the archaeological excavation.
This solution is a photogrammetrical approach, applied with the help of photos taken by a kite: a tool for tight deadlines and a lack of resources.
The new attempt made it possible to collect the information into a GIS platform, through the processing of photos after the end of the excavation. Since the necessity is the mother of invention, we want to expose the way it has been possible to collect and revise the graphics documentation of a stratigraphical excavation after the end of the same.
With this example, we want to provide a possible idea (very cheap and very effective) of action on the ground, which has sought to combine the protection of archaeological heritage with computer experiments.
